Ovington Court:
Driven ashore in the early hours of the 25th November 1940. While anchored off Durban, waiting for a birth to the harbour, the main boilers were shut down to conserve fuel. During a violent storm, the anchors began to drag and there was nothing to do to prevent the ship from running aground. In order to break the ship up explosives were used. This together with the surf has left only the main boiler and engine block.
